Three new songs from an ongoing collaboration between two of Copenhagen’s most active musicians in its burgeoning punk scene. Recorded in a basement on four-track cassette using analog synth, pedals, drums and guitar, both members sing and play a bit of everything. Eleven Fingers is our CoO favorite to date, it's the strongest, most concise example of what they do, a dark and depressive sort of blackened post-punk that also manages to be catchy and anthemic. Mixed and mastered by Greg Saunier of Deerhoof, their black universe of primitive holyness keeps faith to the severity of biblical nihilism adding shades of destructive finalism: from sinister melancholy to harsh cave sounds and yells. Organ, detuned guitar bathed into reverb, funeral percussions as evil, and little bells, keyboards, boy/girl chanting. Mick recorded a few dozen of incredible tracks which cannot be described other than superbly creative in terms of using analogue synths for sound design and song arrangement in electronic pop. For this album, Anna Logue Records has carefully selected and compiled the 14 most obscure and electronic tracks from his demo tape Songs For Citizens and a batch of previously unreleased tracks from 1982-83. Four tracks of cold and bitter post punk from this Swedish one-man endeavour. With Dead Secrets the project explores new territory and the drones of the past releases have been replaced with arrow-like drum machines and sharp riffs. The secrets are indeed dead and gone and what is left is the naked body alone, making it possible for the audience to witness every drop of blood and white body fluid pouring from the work.
